Online Adult Games Banned in Australia

The Australian Minister for Censorship has today confirmed what I’ve been reporting for nearly two years: online adult games including Second Life will be banned in Australia.

A spokesman for Censorship Minister Stephen “Goebbels” Conroy confirmed to Fairfax newspapers that “under the filtering plan, it will be extended to downloadable games, flash-based web games and sites which sell physical copies of games that do not meet the MA15+ standard.” In Australia, the MA15+ rating means that the content is restricted to those aged 15 and above. Australia does not have a R 18+ or similar rating for computer games, with all adult games automatically being classified as RC (Refused Classification.)

Prince of Porn (Mobile Game Review)

Prince of Porn is best described as a text adventure meets rhythm-based button pusher. Its title, plus the revelation that there’s no music to push along to, should give you the necessary clues as to where the rhythm is needed.

But don’t imagine anything seedy. In fact, the cartoon visuals and sexual innuendos are reminiscent of an old PC game, remade for PS2, Leisure Suit Larry, which is often remembered fondly for its cheeky and humourous approach to the subject matter. Unfortunately, Prince of Porn has little of the likeability and none of the variation in gameplay of its spiritual predecessor.

The part chancer, part perv lead character begins the game down on his luck – and ladies – in a bar. An enlightening few seconds later, he realises what he must do to bring meaning to his life. This, it emerges, essentially entails sleeping his way to a career in porn. Cue a quick visit to the ladies toilets and the sort of success a man can only dream of… CONTINUED

Second Life cracks whip on adult content

Virtual world Second Life has put in effect some new measures to keep adult content away from users who might not want to run into it. Or fly into it, as avatars might do.

Later this year, parent company Linden Lab will create a standalone “continent” for adult content, and members who don’t purchase private “land” will be asked to migrate there if they wish to partake in adult-related activities. Second Life is an 18+ environment already, but stricter age verification policies will be put in place. You’ll need a “verified” account, either through credit card information or through Linden Labs’ filtering system, to get into the adult “continent.”

Members will be asked to start flagging content as adults-only as part of a new content rating system, which will start to roll out in an update to the downloadable Second Life client that will be available next week.

Computer games go porno

How do you make an already R-rated game called Bonetown even pervier? By integrating footage from adult DVDs, apparently.

The notion of “expansion pack” takes on a whole new meaning in this context, but D-Dub Software, the developers of Bonetown, are quite pleased with their new partnership with adult distributor SugarDVD, which will allow porn footage to be incorporated into a forthcoming expansion for the PC game. Saw Game Combines Puzzles, Death

In the grisly game, you play a desperate individual caught, like one of the characters who face death in the torture-porn movies, in a booby-trapped environment created by serial killer Jigsaw.

Your character begins his ordeal in the aforementioned mask, furiously trying to rip it off. On the bottom of the screen, an icon of a joystick appears, rotating in a circle. If you simply spin your analog stick, you’ll die.

Action-Filled Video Games Boost Adult Vision

Action video games aren’t just child’s play: A new study finds the pastime can help adults improve a part of eyesight called contrast sensitivity, one of the first parts of vision to be affected by aging. (Source: Forbes)

Mom! My “New” PSP Is Full Of Porn!

When a 6-year-old Tampa Bay boy turned on his “new” PSP from Walmart there was a little something extra included. Lots and lots of porn!

My Fox Tampa Bay says that the boy told his mother, who then called Walmart.

“I showed it to my mom, and I ran back to my room…she said I’m not in trouble,” the boy told Fox.

Walmart, however, was in trouble.

“I explained the situation [to the Walmart…
